Visit HSC Sharpstown

The US Navy Divers demonstrate Scuba diving at the Sharpstown pool.

On Thursday, February 25, 2010, Houston Swim Club – Sharpstown was proud to have four experienced United States Navy Divers visit our facility. Chief Tim Goddard and three fellow Navy Seals and Divers spent a few hours interacting with our USA swim team in the outdoor pool. They gave a brief overview of their respective positions and emphasized the fact that their love of the water is what ultimately led them to a career that revolved around it. Following some tough drills and exercises in true military style, the divers gave a brief demonstration with their equipment.  The swimmers were then able to try everything on and even swam in it all! They quickly learned how much more difficult it is to swim fully clothed and with excessive gear on, than to swim in just a swim suit, cap, and goggles! Below are a few pictures from the event.
