Houston Swim Club Swim School takes every opportunity to spread the message of water safety, in and out of the pool! We don't just teach in the pool, we teach it everywhere! We regularly visit schools, daycares, mom's groups, and other organizations to spread the message of staying safe in and around the water.
Ms Stephanie, our amazing Site Director and Instructor at our Sharpstown location, recently sat down with groups of summer school students to remind them of all the important safety tips that we teach year-round! Stephanie and our mascot introduced them to the Safer 3, an education curriculum created by Stop Drowning Now.
Stop Drowning Now is an educational resource for people working to eliminate drowning in their community. Some of the most important tips included what to do if you see someone who needs help in the water, why you should always obey the pool rules, recognizing hazards, how and when to wear lifejackets, and much more!
We know how important it is to spread the message. Thousands of people in the US drown in non-boat related accidents every year, and one-in-five of those victims are children under the age of 14. The number of children who are hospitalized for drowning-related injuries is 5 times that amount! Our goal, and our passion, is to stop drowning by creating awareness and teaching children the skills they need.
After the water safety lesson, Howey stayed around to shoot some hoops with the kids...because we're not just about swim lessons, we make learning to swim FUN!

A mom who just started in our swim lessons wrote us a letter, and we wanted to share her experience!
